What’s the difference between beginner static and spin pole?

Static poles are fixed and don't move, whereas spin poles pivot around themselves, providing a great 360 degree view of any trick! Spin pole requires a bit more strength and control to ensure the pole doesn’t spin too fast! If you’re brand new to pole dancing, try both static and spin to see what you like best! If you are unsure, haven’t done fitness for a while, or get dizzy easily, static pole can be a good place to start. The tricks taught in the spin and static courses do differ but there are also a lot of similarities. Our most popular membership is 2 classes per week because most of our students like to do both.

I want to learn pole tricks, which class do I book in for?

Beginner static or spin classes. Pole tricks such as climbing, mounting, spinning around the pole, and eventually flipping upside down are all taught in our beginner course classes. These classes consist of

  • Warm-up and core work
  • Strengthening
  • Pole tricks
  • A short dance routine
  • Cool down
I want to learn how to dance, which class do I book in for?

Sensual Flow - this is a dance-based class that will get you in touch with your body and mind. The class is taught in a darkened room and the focus is on how the movement makes you feel, rather than how it looks in the mirror. In this class technique is taught for guidance only as you work through a range of floor and pole movements. These moves are all combined into a sexy routine that you can completely lose yourself in. This class is taught in pole heels but our beginners usually start barefoot, so don't stress about the heels!

Pole Moves - a faster-paced dance class where you will learn a variety of basic movements on, off and around the pole. Put all the movements together in a fully choreographed routine that you will learn with your instructor. This class is all about getting your heart rate up and dancing your cardio. This class is taught in Pole heels but our beginners usually start barefoot, so don't stress about the heels!

Flex & Flow - a hybrid of stretch and dance. You will spend the first half of the class stretching and flowing through a range of movement sequences. Then in the second half, you will learn a short lyrical/contemporary pole routine which includes movements around the pole and on the floor.

For all of these classes, we recommend knee pads to protect your knees, these can be purchased from the studio before your first class or hired for your first time.

I want to improve my flexibility, which class do I book in for?

Stretch Tech - a specialised stretch & conditioning class to work deep into the main muscle groups and enhance your overall mobility and flexibility. Each class will focus on a particular area of the body for example, back and shoulders or, hips, glutes and hamstrings.

Flex and Flow - a hybrid of stretch and dance. You will spend the first half of the class stretching and flowing through a range of movement sequences. Then in the second half, you will learn a short lyrical/contemporary pole routine which includes movements around the pole and on the floor.

I'm here to get strong, which class do I book in for?

Pole Conditioning - is the perfect way to get fit, strong and conditioned for pole dancing...and life! This intensive class is an invaluable part of any pole dancing regime. This intensive sports-specific workout includes strength training for upper and lower body, isometric exercises, stability training and core strengthening plus a fun dance routine. Yes it sounds intense but lots of regressions will be given and you can just take the class at your own pace!

I have no idea what I want, tell me where to start!

We suggest starting with Beginner Static or Sensual Flow if you aren't sure where to begin. But the best part of our intro offer is that you get to try a little bit of everything and find what you love most about pole dancing.

Can I join a beginner course at anytime?

YES! All of our courses run in 8-week blocks BUT our beginner courses have been designed to allow you to join at anytime, it doesn't matter what point we are in the term. When you join the class you will find a mix of students. Some are brand new like you, some have been poling for a few weeks, and others have been doing the course for a few months and are almost ready to pass into the next level. It's amazing to watch the progression of other students but we also understand it can be overwhelming. It's important to take the class at your own pace and just focus on your own workout, the instructor will show regressions and progressions of the tricks to cater to each student in the class. We hope you will feel inspired watching students who were just like you not that long ago.

How long are the classes?

All our classes run for 60 minutes

General Info

What do I wear?

Beginner static/spin courses & Pole Conditioning
Please wear a pair of shorts. It's super important as we use our thighs and knees to grip the pole and leggings will make it virtually impossible! A singlet, crop top, or t-shirt is fine for your top half. Our classes are done barefoot unless you would like to bring along a pair of heels.

Pole Moves, Flex & Flow, Stretch Tech, Sensual Flow
Leggings or shorts are fine, whatever you are comfortable in

How do I book classes?

The best way to book is via the Pole Divas app download it here

Bookings can also be made via our website by navigating to the studio page.

Alternatively, if you need any help at all, you can call or text us and one of our friendly Desk Divas will assist you.

What does it mean if I’m on a waitlist?

This means that all the spots in that class are currently booked. We HIGHLY recommend you add yourself to the waitlist of any class you want to join as majority of the time, spots open up. When a spot opens up, the system will send you a text notifying you and adding you into the class (if it's outside the 8 hour cancellation window). Once it's less then 8 hours before the class time, if a spot opens up you will get a text saying a spot may be available and the first person to reply 1, claims the spot. Please ensure you remove yourself from waitlists when you can no longer attend that class.

What if I need to cancel a class?

Our cancellation policy is 8 hours. As long as you provide more than 8 hours' notice, you will NOT lose your session. Less than 8 hours' notice, you will forfeit the session. You can cancel via the Pole Divas app or website.

What happens if I'm running late for a class, can I still come in?

Unfortunately not. Pole Divas have a strict lockout rule and you do need to be on time for classes. We know that sometimes even with your best-laid plans, things can happen unexpectantly. Please give us a call and chat with our Desk Divas and we will see about moving you to another class. If you are ever unsure you can make it to a class on time, your best bet is to book in last minute!

I bought my pass but I’m not ready to start yet, will it expire?

Nope :). Your pass expiry only kicks in once you book your first class. It can sit on your account until you are ready to use it.

Where do I park, can I catch public transport?

Williams Landing train station is on the opposite side of the freeway to us. There is a pedestrian bridge over the freeway which spills out just in front of our front door. We have allocated car parking out the front of the studio. If that parking is full, there is ample parking in the Williams Landing train station car park located on Wallace Ave.

I’m not strong or fit, can I still pole?

Of course you can! Attending classes is what will make you strong and fit. I won't lie to you, pole dancing is a challenging skill BUT it is also so much fun! Our students get addicted because they love that feeling of achieving a trick they never thought possible, climbing to the top of the pole, flipping upside down, nailing their first spin. The endorphin rush is what keeps our students coming back. If lifting yourself up the pole feels like too much for you right now, don't stress! Start with some dance or stretch classes to get yourself comfortable in the space before taking that next step.

I’m nervous, is that normal?

100% NORMAL! Starting something new can be scary, especially on your own. Then add to that having to wear shorts which many of our students NEVER DO, and it can totally get those butterflies going. The important thing to know is you are not alone. So many of our students who came before you felt exactly the same way. But our students tell us that once they walked through the door and discovered how supportive and nurturing the studio was, the nerves melted away. You are so welcome to visit the studio for a tour and a chat as this helps a lot of students with those first-time nerves, knowing they are coming without the pressure of attending a class!
